Born and raised in San Bernardino, he attended Syracuse University where he earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering/Biosystems and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his M.D. degree at Loma Linda University. His internship was served at the Naval Hospital in San Diego where he also completed a residency in ophthalmology.
While serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Blacharski furthered his training as a retina specialist with several fellowships including: a retinal vascular disease fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee under Dr Steve Charles, an ocular oncology fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and Massachusett’s Eye and Ear Hospital in Boston
Dr Blacharski has been in medical practice in the Inland Empire since 1988 where he has specialized in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He established his private practice in 1998.
Under Dr. Blacharski’s guidance, Inland Valley Retina offers cutting edge technology in the treatment of Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachments, Diabetic Retinopathy, and other disease of the retina.
